BRIGHTON'S Jerome Tseitlin has won a spot in the Australian team, which heads to China next week to compete in the 2010 World Cup Team Championships.

The taekwondo champ defeated all of his opponents at last month's selection trials in Canberra and says he is excited about the trip to China, his first tournament as a senior.

"My success is due to Grandmaster Joon No," the 18-year-old Monash University student said. "His guidance and coaching have been so important."

Tseitlin is a 3rd Dan black belt and started Taekwondo training in 1998, when he was six, at Joon No's Taekwondo under head instructor, Grandmaster Joon No.

He trains at the club's Brighton and Burwood branches, where he is also an assistant instructor.

Over the years, Tseitlin has represented Australia in some international competitions with consistent and excellent results.

Recently, he placed fourth at the 2008 Commonwealth Championships in Canada.
