TWO brighton residents won gold medals at the 15th Southern Thailand Taekwondo Championships in Trang last month.
Jerome Tseitlin, 20, and Alexandra Cutting, 21, students at Joon No's Taekwondo, turned in top performances to win their weight divisions.
Tseitlin, a Monash University student, won his gold medal in a close bout in the Under 68kg final and was also given the "Most Valuable Player" award.
A third dan black belt, Tseitlin has represented Australia at various international events in the last seven years.
He started with Joon No's Taekwondo when he was six.
Cutting won her gold medal in the female Under 57kg category.
A student at RMIT University and a relatively new competitor, having started Taekwondo in 2008, Cutting was competing in her third international event.
The gold medal was her first on the international stage.
Team coach Grandmaster Joon No said he was very pleased with Tseitlin and Cutting's results.
Seeking more success, Tseitlin and Cutting head to Korea in July for the 2012 World Culture Taekwondo Expo.
