THERE'S no stopping Brighton black belt Alexandra Cutting.
Less than a month after winning a bronze medal at the 6th CK Malaysia Classic Taekwondo Championships - her first international competition - Cutting added to her medal count last weekend's National Taekwondo Championships in Caloundra.
Cutting, 20, a student at Joon No's Taekwondo, won a gold medal in the women's Under 55kg class and another gold in the team event. Cutting's 1-1 draw with her NSW opponent, a world champion in the 55-61kg division, gave the Victorian team of Cutting, Maria Alexiadis and Steph Harris the title.
In Malaysia, Cutting took home the bronze medal in the female senior featherweight division.
Cutting was one of eight Joon No's Taekwondo team members who contested the form work and sparring competitions.
They brought home one gold, two silver and seven bronze medals.
Daryl May was the gold-medal winner, capturing top honours in male super junior lightweight sparring.
Winning bronze medals in sparring were Benecia Cheong (female junior finewight) and Kanica May (female junior bantamweight).
Cheong also won a silver medal in poomsae while the trio of Cheong, Bryanna Cheong and May won a team silver medal.
Bryanna Cheong won an individual bronze medal in poomsase.
Benecia Cheong and Jason Wynn were the mixed pair super junior bronze medal winners while Bryanna Cheong and Callan Hatherley won silver in mixed pair juniors. Kanica May and Daryl May won bronze in mixed pair seniors.
Grandmaster Joon No said he was extremely pleased with the team's performance.
"Most team members were participating for the first time at an international competition," he said. "It was an excellent opportunity for our team as they continue to gain experience and glory at international events."
The championships in Kuala Lumpur attracted more than 800 athletes from Australia and South-East Asia.
